The Montréal International Jazz Festival is
Woody Allen, Leonard Cohen, Steely Dan,
Aretha Franklin and many more internationallyrenowned
artists, and don’t forget the 370 shows

of the Just for Laughs Festival will make
Montréal burst out laughing from July 10 to 20,
2008 with its Galas, theatre, stand-up comics
and Street Festival presented in the heart of the
Quartier Latin with over 1200 free outdoor performances

From July 24 to August 3, come celebrate 20
years of FrancoFolies de Montréal (1 888 444-

June 21 to August 6, don’t miss the Loto-Québec
International Fireworks Competition (514

com. Sports fans are also well served: Canadian

Grand Prix from June 6 to 8, the Rogers Cup
(tennis) from July 26 to August 3, and the Busch
Nascar Series on August 1 and 2.
ON THE QUAYS…
This year, the circus arts will be featured at the
Quays of the Old Port (1 800 971-PORT)

September 1, three innovative numbers inspired
by the circus arts will be presented on La
Promenade des arts de la rue. Beginning a
big world tour, the Amakhosi African show
will visit the Old Port from July 17 to August
24. Under a 2000-seat big top, the spectators
are invited to a multidisciplinary show with
the colours and flavours of Africa. The first
touring circus in the province, Cirque Akya
(from June 4 to July 6) offers the spectator a
warm family experience and promises unusual
